The black and white footage purporting to depict Norton Radstock in the 1960s has been faked, say local conspiracy theorists.
Published by the Somerset Guardian last week, the footage has undergone intense scrutiny by basement dwelling, tinfoil apparel enthusiasts.
“Look at the shadows of the cars in frame 1043 at 3 seconds past the 3 minute mark” says telemarketer and moon landing denier Jerome Bustyfield from Westfield “They appear inconsistent with the shadows of the trees. And the buildings are clearly made from papier machè.”
“Also one of the men in the video looks suspiciously like my butcher.”
“From this I have deduced the entire video is nothing more than propaganda by the government designed to brainwash us into becoming mindless drones. It was probably filmed last year or something with a black and white filter.”
“I tried telling people at the supermarket check-out line all about it but staff told me I was ‘causing a scene’ and asked me to leave.
They’re obviously in on it too. They’re everywhere.”
Iain Peacock is a co-worker of Bustyfield’s,
“We just smile and nod most of the time. Every time we ask questions he just accuses us of being space lizards sent to Earth to censor him.”
If he gets too carried away we just tell him the CIA are probably listening to him with their spy satellites. Then he spends the rest of the day quietly looking inquisitively at the ceiling.”
“Bless him.”
