What’s Print on Demand?

We sell our work on t-shirts, masks, wall art, hoodies and more. And it’s all Print-on-Demand.

But what is Print-on-Demand?

Well, when you buy a Made In Norton design, you’ll notice that we actually direct you to either the Amazon UK or TeePublic websites, which is where you choose your fit and actually purchase your product. These are Print-on-Demand websites, and that means that once you make your purchase, it is only then that your product is created (e.g. printed.)

So when we say your item is made just for you, we really mean it. The item is created especially for you. It physically wouldn’t exist unless you made your order.

Print-on-Demand allows us to avoid having to create and store large amounts of stock, which is usually wasteful and bad for the environment. Print-on-Demand allows us to ensure that everything we make is sent to a customer. No waste. No excess. Nothing ending up in landfill.

When you complete your order, it’s Amazon or TeePublic that then proceed to print the design you chose on the t-shirt you chose. That means it’s not actually us taking your payment, providing the t-shirts, doing the printing or shipping your order. That’s all sorted by Amazon and TeePublic. That’s pretty awesome because those companies specialise in doing just that, and they’re pretty good at it.

Once your order is completed, Amazon or TeePublic then pays the designer (that’s us) a commission for the order which helps us pay our bills and to create more designs.

And while we’re always happy to answer questions, when it comes to shipping times, questions on materials, payment queries etc. it’s best to go directly to Amazon or TeePublic as they’re in charge of all of that.
